Juan Loaiza Keynote on Generative Data Dev and App Dev: Oracle CloudWorld 2024

This keynote introduces GenDev, Oracle’s AI-centric development infrastructure designed to accelerate the benefits of AI in enterprise app development. The core concept is to move beyond simply using AI for code acceleration and instead build new infrastructure that enables AI to generate apps as independent, trusted, and evolvable modules. This is achieved by unifying data models (JSON, relational, graph) through features like JSON Relational Duality Views, automating enterprise needs such as confidentiality and consistency, and enabling human-centric data interactions through AI Vector Search and RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation). Ultimately, GenDev, showcased through Oracle Database 23ai and APEX GenDev, aims to make enterprise app development dramatically faster and more productive by allowing developers and AI to focus on app functionality rather than underlying complexity.
